An iOS application that allows its users to capture, share, and view different mobile videos, known simply as Klip, has raised approximately $10 million dollars in total funding. The app launched in September and is focused primarily on discovering and providing the highest quality video streaming that you can get for a mobile device. After shooting a new video clip, it can be shared with friends on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or even by email. Aside from this, you can also watch clips from all over the world, follow other app users, and even share the video clips that you find interesting.
Sharing within the app is built around hashtags, which allow you to keep on top of the current hot trends. These tags easily surface relevant content based on the topic or event. The technology behind this app is pretty special – convenience and recreation are at their peaks. Simply swiping a video with your finger will allow you to preview you it, as well as control the speed at which it plays. Shaking the device will play all of the videos found on the page. Klip offers a nice “solution” to the often unreliable bandwidth issues that come with typical mobile internet usage, using what’s called “adaptive video streaming.” The application can actually check and adapt the streaming of your video based on the performance of your bandwidth once every 4 seconds. Since its launch, Klip has consistently been ranked as the highest social video app found in the Apple App Store.
